Today I had the CD21 blood test taken and have made an appointment to see my doctor on Wednesday afternoon. I found out today that this is her last week! Just great. Just when I'd got up enough courage to do this doctor thing she goes but all is not lost. I 'heard' through the grapevine that my previous doctor who was on maternity leave is maybe coming back and she was awesome!! Actually more like Awesome (note the capital A lol). So after my visit on Wednesday I'm going to do a little digging and find out.
Today I also sent away my saliva sample for the naturopath. Anyone who's have to give a saliva sample will understand when I say it ain't that easy haha. They wanted 1/3 of the tub filled. Easy I thought. Ah no not easy. I probably had to spit like 10times in that tube to get it filled right. And to make matters worse I was in a hurry as the fella wanted a ride into town when I went to work and I had to get him to make out a cheque to pay for it (I don't have a cheque acc) and explain to him what I was doing. All at 6.30am!
That aside I got that sent away and rang up to make an appointment with the naturopath and couldn't get one until the 22nd of Feb at 9.30am. Its a phone consult an hour long and seeing as it was pretty much the only appointment they had with the fertility specialist I took it. It just means that I have to take it during work. However luckily that is the time I have out of the classroom so it works.
I hate that this stuff is eating into work time and feel guilty or rather felt guilty. After I made the appointment I went to my the boss of my part of school to tell her I had to make this phone app during school time and had no intention of telling her why. Not because I believe its no one's business but because I didn't want a fuss made. So I told her my planned story and she asked in her most concerned voice (I must point out this lady is wonderful, she's a great boss who really cares about the people she works) 'Are you ok?"
Bad question.
I ended up telling her the WHOLE deal. She bloody near cried. It was good to get it off my chest and now I feel a lot less guilty and less like I'm sneaking around. I said that I felt bad for having to have the appointment during school time to which she told me to stop being silly and that I give enough in my job that its ok. I felt really valued.
I'm knackered now and really think that it would be best if I got my butt to be early like 8.30pm my week yet again looks like a bomb went off and its only Monday.
Isn't it funny how you just tell people sometimes? My boss asked me if we are going to have kids and I said, "well, I don't ovulate, so I'm not really sure." I didn't mean to, it just popped out. Glad it made you feel better!
ReplyDeleteThat whole "spilling thing" happens to me a lot too. Crazy how it makes you feel better.
ReplyDeleteMy cousin is a naturopath so if you're unsure of something that comes up in the app drop me a line and I can ask her for you. :-) Good luck!
Thanks - will let you know how I get on.
