What a weekend!
Took Friday off and heading north to attend the opening of the rugby world cup and first game - All Blacks Vs Tonga. Anyone who doesn't follow rugby may not realise but NZ is a little bit rugby mad and right now the country is just rocking! Its a big deal for us kiwi's and for us to be able to go to any games is just unreal. We'll never get this chance again.
Anywho we had 4 tickets to the game so a couple of friends came with us. The opening ceremony was at 7.30pm and we were asked to be seated by 7pm to get the ball rolling. So at 4pm we grab a taxi to train station to begin our journey further into the city. Thank god we left then. The place was CRAZY!!! At 4.30pm we got on a train. At this time all public transport within the area became free for ticket holders. Like I say it was MADNESS. We crammed onto this already full train with standing room only. We proceeded to then stop and EVERY station on the line in which more people tried to get on the train. People in our carriage started telling anyone that tried that we were full and there was no more room. Hundreds of people were left standing at stations to wait for the next undoubtable fully train. We hit our last stop before the city and breathed a sigh of relief that we were almost there. This train was ridiculously hot, didn't appear to be any air flow or air con operating. The Fella had striped to his undershirt it was that bad. Children were becoming upset. Then some twat pulled the emergency button mid way to our destination. The train holted to a stop. Naturally we didn't know what had happened and having heard that the main station was full to the brim thought that the stop was due to that. So we waited. No one in charge told us what was happening. We waited some more and then some people started to get anxious. It was hot. I can't describe it. There were no windows and very little clean air coming in. We were literally slowly suffocating. People might think I'm joking but I'm not. I'm not embelishing the story either it was a MAJOR health and safety issue. A man who'd had a triple bypass started to feel faint so we got him sat down and gave him water. It was scarey. The Fella and his friend were almost going to kick the window out to get some air in. STILL no one told us what was happening. We waited for 15-20 mins before a conductor came through and told us it was an emergency stop. We PLEADED for him to open the doors. Apparently the doors won't open in that situation. Its laughable that in an emergency the doors don't open. Seriously? WTF? Anyway FINALLY they opened the doors and people poured out of the train and onto 6 sets of tracks before reaching the footpath. It was serious. We got off and didn't look back. I don't think I could've paid the Fella to stay on that train a minute longer.
Not cool and embarrassing for our country. I will be writing a letter.
So this left us about 3km short of the train station we needed to be at to get to the next train and the game. We had an hour to get to the game. We had approx 7km to cover while walking. We had no idea where we were going. Not cool at all. Especially since I was the one who was leading us on this journey!.
Anyway so we walked among trillions of people (now THAT is an embellishment!). Suddenly out of nowhere a taxi pulls up and lets out a man and women. By some small grace the sun was shining on us because the taxi could take us to the game! We were soooooo lucky. We made it to the game on time. And from there our night got a whole lot better.
The opening ceremony was A-MAZING!!!!!! The atmosphere was electric. The show amazing. The national anthem sung by a stadium full of kiwi's tear wrenching. The haka live sent shivers up my spine. The Game was awesome too. There was so much to take in. So much. I was proud to be a kiwi then. Tremendously proud.
So that was our weekend. Well actually one day of our weekend but the most important day. Now we've spent the rest of our weekend pretty much watching all the other games of tournie so far and catching up on house work and lawns. Oh those puppies needed some taming they were like a hay paddock!
As for TTC - today is CD20. Tomorrow is my progesterone test then my appt for those results will be Sept 26 so not far away. I'm pretty certain I ov'd on Thursday CD17. As far as BDing goes the week was pretty light. We did so on CD12 then again on CD18 so near enough to ov on the second one. Then again today. The fella was too tired all week. I was mad to say the least. Trust him to be horny now huh?
